Two Russian powerplants will supply datacenter and mining farms

Russain entrepreneur and ex-principal of the Committee for conservation of natural resources Alexey Kolesnik bought two power plants in Perm and the Udmurt Republic from “T-plus” company. From now on they will work to supply with power his datacenter and, in perspective, mining facilities.

The value of the deal amounts to 159 mln rubles ($2,8 mln). As a result, Kolesnik became the owner of Gubahinskaya power company, which entails Kizelovskaya power plant  (23,6 MW) and Sarapulskaya thermal power plant (10 MW).

According to the plan,  on the base of these facilities will be arranged a datacenter, which among other activities Kolesnik wants to use for mining crypto.

We consider our options, but we have to wait until the legal framework will be officially defined,” — comments Kolesnik.

Recently, another data center and mining initiative was announced by Russia billionaire Oleg Deripaska. His mining factory may soon open in Karelia, on the base of Nadvoitsk aluminum plant.
