Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin is mining ethers

The Blockchain Global Summit 2018, which is currently taking place at Sir Richard Branson’s island, saw one of the richest men in the world, a multi-billionaire and the co-founder of Google Sergey Brin revealing that he is mining ethers with his ten-years-old son.

Brin also commended the zero knowledge proof technology, developed by Zcash team. As it is known, that the creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin plans to integrate the zero knowledge proof algorithms into Ethereum blockchain.

As also noted by Brin, the true potential of blockchain lies in the opportunities for safe document storage and exchange it brings.

Google’s co-founder wrote in his letter to investors that we are living a time of technological Renaissance, blockchain being the part of it:

“Every month, there are stunning new applications and transformative new techniques. In this sense, we are truly in a technology renaissance, an exciting time where we can see applications across nearly every segment of modern society,” – Brin stated.

The long-living rumors of Google working on its own cryptocurrency and blockchain projects is also worth recalling in this context. This might be the main reason behind the corporation’s decision to ban ICO and cryptocurrency ads.
