Blockchain has been a very hot topic in Hangzhou these days. On June 10, Hangzhou Institute of Planning and Design announced a joint project in the field of economic construction and social development with Hangzhou Association of Blockchain Technology.
The project is aimed at the exploration of the possible uses of the blockchain technology as applied to waste sorting and recycling.
The resulting blockchain application will be available to communities, environment protection groups and regulators. It will store all the data on the disposure of wastes, as well as the total volume of recycled garbage and related logistics.
As noted by the researchers from Hangzhou Institute of Planning and Design, the system will be made functional by the end of this year.
