NYSE chairman: Survival of cryptocurrencies is “unequivocal”

Jeffrey Sprecher, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, shared his optimistic opinion concerning the survivability of cryptocurrencies as a new asset class.

While speaking at the Consensus Invest conference, Sprecher responded to headlines questioning “Will digital assets survive?” by stating that “the unequivocal answer is yes”.

NYSE chairman is known for his positive stance towards cryptocurrencies. Back in April, he referred to crypto as a “trend we can’t ignore”.

The event was also attended by Sprecher’s wife Kelly Loeffler, CEO Bakkt.

“The Bakkt futures contract will help Bitcoin traders establish a trusted price. Bitcoin now trades at different prices on different exchanges, many of which are unregulated,” – Loeffler commented on the issue of bitcoin futures.

As reported earlier, NYSE is planning to launch its bitcoin futures trading platform Bakkt on January 24, 2019.
