Last month, the Ross Ulbricht’s defenders community launched the first episode of the documentary series “Railroaded: The Targeting and Caging of Ross Ulbricht”. The filmmakers promised to go into detail of Ross Ulbricht’s arrest and explain the significance of this story to the entire world. Over the last few months, a petition aimed at freeing Ross Ulbricht has reportedly garnered 100 000 signatures. Addressed to U.S. president Donald Trump and hosted on Change.org, the request explains that Ulbrecht deserves clemency because his investigation, trial, and sentencing were rife with abuse. This was preceded by the co-founder of Silk Road being sentenced for life.
Back in June, John McAfee, who is a well-known crypto advocate and the head of the eponymous anti-virus cybersecurity company, announced he will take part in the presidential elections 2020. In 2016, he was a Libertarian Party nomination but eventually lost to former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson. He made his intention public by posting the following tweet on the matter:
“In spite of past refusals, I have decided to again run for POTUS in 2020. If asked again by the Libertarian party, I will run with them. If not, I will create my own party. I believe this will best serve the crypto community by providing the ultimate campaign platform for us.”
